Are you ready to make a tangible difference in the lives of sexual assault survivors in the High Desert area? Our upcoming Volunteer Advocate training class is your gateway to becoming an essential part of our community's support system. If you're passionate about helping others, committed to confidentiality, and eager to learn, we invite you to join us in July 2024 for a transformative journey.

About the Training

We're thrilled to announce our upcoming Volunteer Advocate training class, tailored for the Victorville area and its surroundings. Spanning from Apple Valley to Barstow and beyond, our hybrid training model combines the convenience of virtual sessions with the engagement of in-person training.

Sessions will run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM via Zoom, ensuring flexibility for participants. Additionally, two Saturday sessions from 9 AM to 3 PM will offer hands-on learning experiences right within the Victorville community.

What You'll Learn

As a Volunteer Advocate, you'll play a vital role in our Sexual Assault Response Team (SART). Under the guidance of our coordinator, you'll be trained to handle crisis hotlines, respond to emergency calls, and participate in workshops and fairs across local schools and communities. Your commitment will involve working at least two activities per month and attending our mandatory monthly training meetings.

Your Commitment

We understand that your time is precious, which is why we ask for a minimum commitment of one year, with a dedication of two activities per month. Our mandatory monthly training meetings, currently conducted via Zoom, provide ongoing education and support. Your adherence to confidentiality principles and agency standards is paramount, ensuring quality services for survivors and their families.
