Job Title: Direct Client Advocate

Program: Sexual Assault Survivor Services

Location(s): Victorville / High Desert Area

Salary Range: $37-40K

The Direct Client Advocate is responsible for providing direct client services to victims of sexual violence. The Direct Client Advocate is responsible for providing 24/7 hotline coverage, crisis intervention, crisis counseling, emotional support, advocacy, accompaniment, and appropriate referrals/linkages to victims/survivors and their significant others. In addition, this position is responsible for providing advocacy to victims, including but not limited to in-person accompaniment to police stations, throughout the court process, and to obtain an Order of Protection; and referrals for other services; and/or providing community referrals. This position is part of the on-call staff rotation providing 24- hour crisis response to affiliated hospitals.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology, or related field required.

  • Ability to objectively advocate for the needs/rights of others.

  • Positive attitude and pro-active approach to problem solving a must.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must have excellent organizational, documentation, and data tracking skills.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to respond timely to Partners Against Violence partner hospitals.

  • Completion of a 52-hour Crisis Response Training within 30 days of hire is required; previous completion of the training is very strongly preferred.

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends required.

Job Title: Medical/Legal Crisis Response Advocate (Bilingual)

Program: Sexual Assault Survivor Services

Location(s): Eastern Region Morongo Basin

Salary Range: $37-40K

The Medical/Legal Crisis Response Advocate is responsible for providing legal advocacy to victims/Survivors of sexual assault, including but not limited to accompaniment for survivors to police stations, throughout the court process, and to obtain an Order of Protection; assistance with filing for crime victims’ compensation and referrals for other services; discussing alternatives to the criminal justice system and/or providing referrals for any work-related issues. The Advocate liaisons with uniform police officers, sex crimes detectives and the District Attorney’s Office. In addition, the Medical/Legal Crisis Response Advocate will provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and appropriate referrals/linkages to sexual assault victims/Survivors and their significant others. This position is part of the on-call staff rotation providing 24-hour crisis response to affiliated hospitals and local law enforcement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology, or related field required.

  • Previous supervision, training, and public speaking experience required.

  • Previous experience working with diverse populations required.

  • Previous volunteer management experience and experience providing advocacy services to crime victims strongly preferred.

  • Must have excellent organizational, documentation, and data tracking skills.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to respond timely to SBSAS partner hospitals.

  • Completion of a 52-hour Crisis Response Training within 30 days of hire is required; previous completion of the training is very strongly preferred.

Program: Crime Survivor Services Location(s): Eastern Region Coachella Valley Salary Range: $37-40K Date Posted: 3/30/2021


The Victim Service Coordinator is responsible for providing advocacy, support, and resources to victims of crime and their significant others. This position helps to address and overcome barriers in receiving support services. The Victim Service Coordinator is responsible for providing crisis intervention, emotional support, and appropriate referrals/linkages to victims/survivors and their significant others. In addition, this position is responsible for providing advocacy to victims, including but not limited to in-person accompaniment to police stations, throughout the court process, and to obtain an Order of Protection; and referrals for other services; and/or providing community referrals. This position is part of the on-call staff rotation providing 24- hour crisis response to affiliated hospitals. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology, or related field required.
