Who We Are
We are passionate, trained advocates and volunteers providing services to survivors of violent crime, their families, and the communities in which we live. All of our services are available at no cost to survivors, their significant others, and family members.
We are a diverse group of residents and community members of the Inland Empire region of Southern California. We believe violence is preventable, and we lead by advocating for policy that seeks to promote dignity, respect, and the prevention of violence in our community.
We are always here to listen, believe, and support.
Our Mission
Partnering to build healthy relationships, families, communities, and generations that are free from violence.
Our Vision
We believe all persons should be able to live free of violence of any kind. We envision a cultural paradigm shift in which no one perpetuates violence. We work in partnership with our communities and Survivors to create a culture of respect and dignity for all persons through Institutional Advocacy, Prevention Education and Awareness Programming.
Our History
Established in 1973 as one of the earliest grass roots rape crisis centers in California, we have been providing crisis support and advocacy to survivors of sexual trauma and their families for nearly 50 years.
In 1980, San Bernardino Sexual Assault Services was incorporated and recognized as an independent non-profit and a member of the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault.
In 2018, we expanded our mission to include supporting victims of all violent crime with the addition of our Crime Survivor Services Program in San Bernardino County.
In April of 2021 we became Partners Against Violence to further unify and grow the nonprofit.
Today, we continue our work in the communities of San Bernardino and East Riverside County, serving the largest geographic area of any rape crisis center in the State of California.
